KOMP Repository (Knockout Mouse Project) KOMP Knock Out Knockout Mouse Mice
Improved KOMP Sharing Plan

KOMP is pleased to offer the research community an opportunity to donate KOMP mice made in your laboratory from vectors, ES cells, or chimeras purchased from the KOMP Repository.

We'd also be happy to accept mice that have undergone FLP or Cre recombination, if the original allele was purchased from KOMP.

Donate at no cost to you! KOMP donation fulfills your obligations under the NIH Sharing Policy. And it helps out the KOMP Program too, because the mice you send back to the KOMP Repository will be cryopreserved, archived for safety and security, and made available for distribution to the research community.

FINE PRINT: KOMP Strain Donation is designed for scientists to send KOMP mice they've created back to the KOMP Repository for cryo-archiving, maintenance, and distribution through the KOMP catalog.

The following criteria and conditions must be met for donating to the KOMP Repository:

  • Fully complete the online KOMP mouse submission form
  • Complete and submit online a KOMP Donor MTA.
  • The mutant mice you submit must be on a pure C57BL/6 background...preferably N, but may accept J. Mice that do not meet this criteria should be submitted to the MMRRC repository.
  • You must provide a working, verified, gene-specific PCR genotyping protocol and DNA samples prior to shipment of mice. Sender is responsible for all costs of shipping DNA samples.
  • Mice that cannot be genotype-confirmed at the KOMP Repository will not be accepted.
  • Donor (you) is responsible for minimal costs for handling and preparation (but not shipping...see below)
  • When using our couriers, KOMP will cover the cost of shipping/courier fees up to $1,000;
  • The KOMP Repository reserves the right to rescind this offer at any time.

This offer is valid only to academic (not-for-profit) users (not commercial purchasers).

OK, I'm ready to submit mice!

The KOMP Repository is located at the University of California Davis and Children’s Hospital Oakland Research Institute. Question? Comments?
