Newly Available KOMP Live Mouse Models http://www.komp.org/blog.php?post=64 http://www.komp.org/blog.php?post=64 Mon, 01 Apr 2013 16:15:40 PDT The KOMP Repository has received a group of 24 KOMP mouse models that are available as Live Mice for a limited time only.  You can request these Live Mice from our Conventional Facility, or request rederivation to receive mice from our Barrier Facility.  Upon receipt of a completed request we will breed the available male(s), or proceed with rederivation procedure, as per your online request.  Expect an average processing time of 10 - 14 weeks for your requested mice to be ready to ship.

Once these lines are cryoarchived and off the shelf as live they can be requested as cryopreserved sperm or we can cryorecover sperm to generate for you a litter of mice in our Barrier Facility.  More details of KOMP pricing and associated services can be found on our Fees page.

Deleter Lines for use with KOMP targets http://www.komp.org/blog.php?post=56 http://www.komp.org/blog.php?post=56 Mon, 12 Mar 2012 14:30:09 PDT KOMP Customers, Are you looking for Cre or FLP deleter lines that are on C57BL/6N background?  Look no further, the NIH supported Mutant Mouse Regional Resource Centers (MMRRC) distribute two such lines, which are currently available as LIVE MICE:

034412-UCD C57BL/6N-Hprttm1(CMV-cre)Brd/Mmucd – This model, donated by Allan Bradley and the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, is an X-linked Cre-deleter line which utilizes the CMV promoter to drive the Cre recombinase activity.  The Hprttm1(CMV-cre)Brd construct was electroporated into JM8.F6 ES cells and the strain has been maintained on C57BL/6NTac.

036512-UCD C57BL/6N-Tg(CAG-Flpo)1Afst/Mmucd – This model, originally donated by Konstantinos Anastassiadis and Technische Universitaet Dresden, has the optimized FLP recombinase which utilizes CAG promoter to drive the FLPo activity. This strain was created using JM8.F6 ES cells, mice were mated to albino C57BL/6J, and then subsequently backcrossed back onto C57BL/6NTac by the UC Davis Mouse Biology Program and donated to the MMRRC.

About the International Gene Trap Consortium The IGTC maintains a large database of publicly available gene trap cell lines, which are made available on a non-collaborative basis for nominal handling fees to the biomedical research community. The creation of these videos has also had the added benefit of inspiring a redesign of sections of our website. For instance, when creating the New Account video, I noticed that some parts of the process were confusing or unnecessary only after I had slowly completed the steps and attempted to verbally justify my actions.
